Up-close and Personal

Assalamualaikum

Oh. Nampaknya blog ini cuma akan diupdate seminggu sekali jek sebab saya tengah gila busy dengan real life sekarang. Real life yang tak berapa ada life sangat. Hari2 bangun tidur terus straight ke meja bukak buku fizik. Calculate itu ini. Tulis report berhelai-helai. Tak pun bukak pc. Bukan tengok friendster ke blog okeh. Tengok source code sampai nak muntah. Tapi at least source code lebih menarik dari buku teks robotic saya. Hampeh membosankan. Nak abes baca satu chapter pun bagai nak pengsan.

Rasa nak pengsan dengar jawapan Moshitta. Nak terguling-guling pun ada gak.

"Awak, buku teks Fizik saya ada 2 dah tu. Tu pun tak abes baca lagi. Saya nak buku cerita T.T"

Ya saya ada dua buku teks Fizik. Satu ialah College Physics yang kitorang guna time dekat DYTC dulu and satu lagi Fundamental of Physcics yang saya guna sekarang. Belajar Fizik dari form 4 sampai la 3rd year university, saya tetap gak kantoi Fizik. Gile ah. Fizik lagi susah dari semua subjek major combined together tau.

Tapi talking of storybooks, lately there aren't much good books around. Mind you, saya bukan lagi the 5 years old Farini yang korang sumbat dengan buku apa sekali pun semua saya bantai baca. Termasuklah buku The Three Musketeers in classic English. Eheh~ Sekarang saya agak memilih buku. And the ones that saya akan beli without reading the synopsis are Sophie Kinsella's. So semalam waktu saya tengah berfikir-fikir nak beli buku apa, saya go to Sophie Kinsella's official website. Dan rasa nak menjerit. Hello? Buku tu dah direlease like a month ago. How come saya tak tahu?? Campus life sangat busy ke? Dan saya terus kata pada Moshitta.

"Awak. Saya nak gi Kyobo."

"Sekarang?" It was 7.20p.m. Waaaaayyy past Maghrib ok. Jangan salah sangka.

Saya angguk.

Dan sudahnya, malam tadi saya pergi Kyobo. Sambil mengambil angin malam bandar Seoul. Terasa bahagia kejap. Umpama tak ada report menggunung menanti di rumah sungguh. Eheh~ And I grabbed another book, The Princess Academy from a not-so-known author but no biggie. I can just collect it.

That's book story. Really, if there are two things that differs me from the past me, it's the love to mirrors and storybooks.

Lately saya realized, I don't mind living without a mirror. It's been years actually, that I haven't been appreciating one. The old me could spend hours just staring at a mirror, considering my bedroom in Malaysia have got a full-length one. But now the only mirrors I look at everyday are the ones in the bathrooms. I rarely even need to take a look at the mirror before I go out everyday. I've come to consider that standing in front a mirror trying my best to look perfect is just a waste of time. At the end I'll still be the plain Farini. Trust me, I've tried.

And then there's the books. Entah sejak bila saya rasa kurang senang baca buku yang entah tidak tahu mana asal-usulnya. Kalau bukan dari author ternama, rasa tak tahu nak baca atau tidak. Lagi-lagi novel-novel Melayu yang isinya kebanyakannya prototype. Duh~ Tapi pun ada gak novel author ternama yang saya tak baca. Saya tak baca Danielle Steel or Stephen King. Sebab sangat bosan. Saya tak suka cerita-cerita berat macam murders, affairs, scandals bla bla bla. Terlalu orang dewasa. And so over the time, unlike Kiki yang has a variety of stories up her shelf (all teenage stories, of course. And she particularly loves The Princess Diaries series), I have only popular books. Everything by Sophie Kinsella's, LoTR, Harry Potters and a jumble of few others.

In the surface, I still am the same Farini from years back. Moshitta said so that day I was wearing the same red sweater and the same frameless specs I wore back at SNU (my purple-framed lost it's screw and I haven't had time to go to the optician). He said I look just like me 2 years back. But I've changed a lot. I don't read as much books. I don't spend my time sleeping, in fact I rarely have a nap. I know how to cook.

Ok dah panjang. You guys must be bored. But since saya cuma boleh tulis seminggu sekali, so faham-faham, ok.
