Relative and Selfishness
Assalamualaikum
Haaa~ Bile dah start update, banyak la plak nak cakap kan? Eheh~ Tanak cakap panjang. But I have to say this.
Universities at Korea are currently using the relative evaluation system. Which means no matter how good you are, if 10 other people in your class are better than you, that makes you a loser. In short everybody else except yourself is enemy. Every single person that is absent gives extra points to you. So do those that forget their homeworks and those who didn't do well in exams. Every single point that they lost is a gain to you. Cruel, isn't it?
In my opinion, relative evaluation system not only teaches students about rivalries, it teaches students what selfishness really means. Students will start thinking that it doesn't matter if others don't go to classes. So long as they go. In fact, the more they don't go, the better it gets to them. The more others don't know, the better for them.
But then again this become a wake up call for people on who's friend and who's not. Who's willing to set aside the whole rivalries thingy and stick to the so-called bond of friendship.
To me, winning is important. But I'd never want to win alone. There's no joy in winning yet seeing your friends lose. Trust me.
But if you want to keep on with it, go on. And one day you'll know how it really feels like doing everything on your own.
Till then =)
